Just last month, Magycal had the pleasure of joining Japan IT Week as part of the EU Business Hub — a European initiative helping innovative SMEs explore opportunities in Asia. We were selected from over 130 companies and joined more than 40 European tech teams in Tokyo for one of the region’s biggest tech events.
The setting was the iconic Tokyo Big Sight, a futuristic venue on the island of Odaiba, famous for its skyline views, autonomous trains, and even a full-sized Gundam statue.
Our booth? Right at the entrance: open, bright, and perfectly placed for conversations. Everything from logistics to support staff made it easy to focus on what mattered: connecting. The energy across the event was electric. Presentations, product demos, and enthusiastic crowds made the space feel alive.
We also got to experience the unique rhythm of Japan’s tech scene, where cutting-edge infrastructure coexists with deeply rooted traditions. It was a powerful reminder that innovation doesn’t always look the same everywhere and that’s exactly what makes it exciting.
While the event had a broad focus, we walked away with valuable insights and some promising early conversations. From interactive Second Screen Experiences to OTT platforms, we had the chance to showcase the flexible nature of our solutions and how they can adapt across markets.
Events like this also reinforce the power of partnerships. Whether it’s our work with sporttv or the many ways we help broadcasters grow and connect with their audiences, our goal remains the same: create meaningful Digital Experiences that truly engage.
Japan is a long game and we’re excited to take our first steps on this journey.
